Glynis Johns — 1923
It’s no surprise that Glynis Johns has become a household name in the entertainment industry. In 1935, she became an overnight sensation, gaining a devoted following throughout the world. Beginning her acting career on the stage, Johns rapidly rose to fame as the voice of Winifred Banks in Disney’s “Mary Poppins.”
Besides this project, she is also known for her gravelly voice in the Broadway musical “A Little Night Music,” for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for the best-supporting actress in a musical. In addition, the actress was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the 1960 picture “The Sundowners.”
