A Glimpse of Bear Behavior

Sometimes wild animals do strange things when we’re not looking. Thanks to trail cams, we get to see rare moments like this one: a black bear stretching on its hind legs like a human. It’s a fascinating sight since bears are usually seen walking on all fours.

Lynn Sheehan of Pennsylvania was the lucky photographer who captured this moment and shared it with the world through a Field & Stream photo contest. It’s amazing how such a simple action, like stretching, can give us insight into an animal’s behavior. It reminds us that there’s so much we still have to learn about the animal kingdom.
