Fran Tarkenton (Born in 1940)
Fran Tarkenton is a former professional American football player. He played as a quarterback for 18 seasons, mostly with the Minnesota Vikings and five seasons with the Newyork Giants. By the time he was retiring, he was the owner of many quarterback records and in 1986, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1987.
After retirement, he became a computer software pioneer, and started Tarkenton Software, a program generator company, which later merged with James Martin’s KnowledgeWare. He also runs his annuity marketing firm ‘Tarkenton Financial’ which caters to small businesses.
