Hakeem Olajuwon (Born in 1963)
Hakeem Abdul Olajuwon has been nicknamed “the Dream.” He is a former Nigerian-American professional basketball player. From 1984 to 2002, he played center in the National Basketball Association for the Houston Rockets and later the Toronto Raptors. He led the Houston Rockets to back-to-back NBA championships in 1994 and 1995.
Olajuwon emigrated from Nigeria to basketball at the University of Houston under Cougars coach Guy Lewis. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest centers in NBA history and one of the greatest players of all time. He became the first non-American to be an NBA All-Star and start in an NBA All-Star Game.
