Jackie Joyner-Kersee (Born in 1962)
Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee is a retired American athlete and is ranked among the greatest athletes in the heptathlon and the long jump. She has won three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals in those events at four different Olympic Games. Sports Illustrated magazine voted her the best female athlete of the 20th Century.
Joyner-Kersee is active in philanthropy; she is the founder of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation, which encourages young people in her hometown to pursue athletics and academics. She also founded Athletes for Hope together with other athletes. The organization helps athletes to get involved in charitable causes to help the community.
