Julius Erving (Born in 1950)
Julius Erving is commonly known by his nickname, “Dr. J.” He is a former professional basketball player who played for both the NBA and ABA. He won three championships and four Most Valuable Player awards during his time in the National Basketball Association and American Basketball Association.
He is considered by many to be one of the most talented players in the NBA. Erving brought dunking to the mainstream and used it as his signature move. In October 2021, he was honored as one of the league’s greatest players by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
