High Fashion Hits – The Style Council Bring Some Stylin’ and Profilin’
Following Status Quo onto the stage was Paul Weller and his band The Style Council. The British band was fresh off releasing their latest album, Our Favourite Shop, which was dropped the month before at number one on the UK charts. Together with keyboardist Martin Talbot and Weller’s then-girlfriend Dee C. Lee, the band put on an electrifying performance.
They played two songs from their most recent album at the time; a track called Walls Come Tumbling Down and Internationalists. They made the most of their short stage time, playing popular songs You’re The Best Thing and Big Boss Groove. Despite the international exposure, The Style Council’s success remained in the UK only.
