The Man of The Hour – Organizer Bob Geldof
There’s a reason Bob Geldof became the historical leader of the Live Aid event. While he and Midge Ure are both organized the event, he was the most vocal of the organizers and key in rallying up the acts that graced the stage at both events.
This is also why he was lauded and applauded at the end of the show. In fact, after joining Paul McCartney on stage for his rendition of Let It Be, The Who’s Peter Townshend and Paul McCartney raised him onto their shoulders. He had a penchant for being brash and crude, but many consider him the lifeblood of the event.
