These days a concert ticket could set someone back a few hundred pounds or dollars. But back in 1985, you could see some of the world’s biggest bands for just £25. Or in Live Aid Breakdown… £5 for the ticket, and a mandatory $20 donation towards the cause.
This pricing system could have been nothing more than a mind trick since all proceeds were going towards the Band-Aid charity anyway. Based on this pricing mechanism, it can also be determined that only £1.8 million of the estimated £150 million raised came from ticket sales.
