While many people were fortunate to be at Live Aid to witness some of the history being made, others had to settle for watching from home. Yet the stadium could actually have taken more people on the day. In fact, the capacity in 1985 was 82,000, which is 10,000 more than those who got in.
Wembley stadium once even had a capacity of 125,000 when it was a standing venue. In fact, the highest attendance ever recorded at the venue is 126,047, which was for the 1923 FA Cup final. But fewer were let in for live Aid due to the nature of the event.
