Solo Superstars – Nik Kershaw Brings The Hits
In 1985, Nik Kershaw was one year into his solo music career but was already one of the biggest names in British music. In fact, between 1984 and 1985, he spent a combined 62 weeks on the UK Singles Charts… more than any other solo artist.
So he was a pretty big deal when he took to the stage at Live Aid, although he later described the experience as terrifying. This never stopped him from using his massive 18-minute set to play masterful renditions of hits like The Riddle, Wouldn’t It Be Good, Don Quixote, and Wide Boy. Kershaw was another artist whose popularity started waning after the concert.
