Just One Chance – Elvis Costello Singing Some Folk

While Adam Ant eventually considered his one-song slot a waste of time, Elvis Costello made the most of his four-minute cameo on stage. He came on stage and asked the crowd to please help him sing an old northern folk song he had learned as a child.

That “folk song” turned out to be a cover of The Beatles classic, All You Need Is Love, and boy, oh boy, did the crowd help him out. He sparked a massive singalong that was only bettered by Queen’s performance. The year 1985 was a monumental year for him as it was the last he would perform with his backing band, The Attractions.
