Johnny Briggs | Known For: Coronation Street, On Air For 60 Years

Johnny Briggs’s name was tied with his character Mike Baldwin in the soap opera Coronation Street almost his entire career. He appeared in it for three decades between 1976 and 2006 and will always be remembered for it.

Briggs first started his career in theatre and made his television debut in The Younger Generation with John Thaw. After acting in the series for many years, he decided to leave Coronation Street in 2005 because the shooting schedule was too hectic. It was a good decision on his part as he was able to live the last few years of his life without work stress before passing on February 28, 2021.
