Ursus Thibetan
The Asiatic black bear is known by many names. They’re sometimes called moon bears and white-chested bears due to the distinct patch of white hair on their chest. They also officially go by the scientific name Ursus thibetanus.
The species is typically found in the mountainous areas of southern Asia, especially in countries like Pakistan, Nepal, northern India, and northern China. Knowing this, it’s highly possible Little Black originally came from one of these places and was taken from its mother to be sold. Sadly, there’s a huge demand for Asiatic black bears in the black market.
