Elvis Presley – 42 (1935 – 1977)

Today, everyone knows who Elvis Presley is. He has been called “The King” by his fans, and most regard him as one of the best showmen of all time. Yet, back in the 1950s, when he rose to stardom, Elvis’ actions caused quite a bit of public outrage. His unusual musical prowess and sensual dancing moves attracted a lot of attention, propelling him to stardom.

It is easy to say that Presley was just ahead of his time- that’s why we appreciate him so much today. The Rock N’ Roll King suffered heart failure in 1977, which was discovered to have been due to his regular use of prescription drugs.
