Oliver Reed – Gladiator

Sometimes CGI is used to give the film the proper ending it deserved, and Gladiator is the perfect example of this. While Russell Crowe was the star in the movie, another person whose impact cannot go unnoticed is Oliver Reed.

Sadly, Reed passed on before the filming was complete, and the producers had to make a decision to either re-shoot all of his scenes with a different actor or use special effects. They chose the latter, and the decision paid off, as the result was so realistic, you wouldn’t notice the difference between the real Reed and the CGI one. Special effects to the rescue, once again!
