I love finding natural ways to get things done around the house, especially when it comes to my pool. After it’s been sitting idle for months during the winter, the water can get pretty gross.

Baking soda is a great way to get your pool looking good again after a long winter or fall. It’s simple to use – just make a paste by combining water and baking soda and scrub away dirt, algae and bug remains.

It is also a great natural alternative to other chemicals, as it is an alkaline increase; just add 1.5 pounds of baking soda per 10,000 gallons of water to increase the alkalinity by 10 ppm. It’s an easy and effective way to keep your pool looking sparkling clean, without the use of harsh chemicals.
