Iran
This woman clearly went all out in doing her face paint to show her support for her home country in the World Cup. This may not be striking to some, but it is very meaningful because, since the 1980s, the Iranian government has been keen on disallowing women from watching sports matches.
In 2018, activist Maryam Shojaei went to Russia to watch Iran’s game against Spain, but the police confiscated the banner she was supposed to use during the match. Then the following year, a woman violated the rule and served jail time, so as a result, she lit herself on fire, causing an outrage in the country.
