But in 2017, the United Arab Emirates passed a law prohibiting people from owning wild animals. Anyone involved in the ownership or sale of such creatures, a long-standing tradition, faces imprisonment or a massive fine of $136K. Authorities established the strictly enforced law to protect these feral animals and keep the people of Dubai safe.
