Ed O’Neill – Football
Ed O’Neill first entered football at Ursuline High School while also working. He was then given a football scholarship at Ohio University and admitted to Inside the Actors Studio that he spent more time playing sports and going out than studying. He transferred to Youngstown State University and served as a defensive lineman.
After his time at Youngstown, he was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Pittsburgh Steelers but didn’t make it further. At this time, he tried various jobs until he landed onscreen. His roles in “Married… with Children” and “Modern Family” earned him numerous Golden Globes, Primetime Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild nominations.
