Larry Ellison is one example of why you shouldn’t listen to anyone telling you that you can’t make it in life. Ellison’s adoptive father repeatedly made him feel that way. Still, now, as the co-founder of Oracle Corporation, he is one of the world’s wealthiest people with a net worth of $91 billion.

Ellison never thought he’d be rich. In his early life, he lived on the south side of Chicago, a famously notorious area, and he had dropped out of two universities. He finally moved to California and took on some odd jobs before finally establishing his company which led to his success.
