Chatting the Captain
Trucker and his mother were staying at Ronald McDonald House, a charity organization that accommodated families with sick children, enabling them to stay close to the hospital and access medical care. On their way back from an outing, he spotted the FDNY firefighters and grew increasingly thrilled.
His excitement reached a fever pitch when he caught sight of the captain of the fire department. When Jim was returning to his fire engine after attending a call, Trucker and his mother approached him to strike up a conversation. It was at this point that the brave little boy revealed his heartfelt request.
