As far as childhood sweethearts go, none are more prominent in soccer than Wayne and Colleen Rooney. They were in secondary school when they met while Rooney was breaking through as a robust 16-year-old. They eventually married in 2008 and had Westlife and The Stereophonics playing at the wedding.

Their marriage hasn’t been without controversy, with allegations of infidelity surfacing against Rooney on multiple occasions. These include accusations in 2021 that he was going around with model Tayler Ryan. But their marriage endures, and they stay together, sharing their four children. Colleen is also an author who specializes in children’s literature and has published several books on that theme.
