Despite many being dubbed it, no English player has ever been the next Paul Gascoigne. While Gazza was a flawed man, he was also a genius who mesmerized on the soccer field. His Flawed nature can be seen in his relationships, with a marriage that ended in divorce in 1999 after he admitted to abusing his ex-wife Sheryl Failes.

In 2020 Gascoigne was seen with Wendy Leech, a mother of two who he had been quarantining with. But that relationship hit the rocks after footage of him surfaced out at a pub with friends during the lockdown. Leech ended the relationship, citing his irresponsible behavior as the reason.
