Michael Owen is one of only a handful of British players to win the Ballon d’Or. During his playing days, he was renowned for his electric pace and finishing ability that saw him become one of the most feared strikers in the game. But one person who has never feared him is Louise Bonsall… his wife.

They’ve known each other since primary school, having met in 1984. Twenty years later, they got engaged and married in 2005, wearing informal clothing at a registry office. They had a stylish reception the following day, though. The couple shares four children, and Owen returned to do expert analysis for “BT Sport.”
