Melting Glaciers Reveal an Old Forest
We all know underwater plants are a thing, but how often does it happen that an entire forest pops out of the ocean? Something similar happened in a water body near Alaska, where researchers witnessed a strange pattern of stumps and wooden logs popping out of the icy river in the upright position for the past 50 years.
It was found upon investigation that an entire forest of either hemlock or spruce trees got covered in thick layers of gravel, which further got submerged in the glacier with time. Sounds interesting, right?
