Pauline Collins (Born In 1940) – Upstairs, Downstairs

Pauline Collins once starred in the play “Shirley Valentine,” and that immediately made her a household name in the industry. Her performance has won a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress and Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. She reprised the role in the 1989 film adaptation and, this time won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress.

Decades have passed, but Collins is still remembered for that titular role. In British mainstream media, she gained prominence for portraying Sarah Moffat in “Upstairs, Downstairs” and the spin-off “Thomas & Sarah.” Collins entailed her life journey in the autobiography “Letter to Louise.”
