The Other Organiser – Ultravox and Midge Ure Play a Set
As fact has become history, and history has become a legend, so Live Aid has become “the work of just Bob Geldof.” While it was already made clear that Boy George dropped the initial idea, there was another man on the organizing committee; that man was Midge Ure.
But back in 1985, this was a well-known fact. This is why when Ure and his band Ultravox took the stage, it was to a hero’s welcome. They indulged the crowd in such hits as Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, One Small Day, and an emphatic singalong to Vienna.
