Being Prepared – Cold Showers For Everyone
London was sweltering with summer weather and 72,000 people in Wembley stadium. The American leg was equally hot, with temperatures reaching a staggering 90 degrees in Philadelphia that day. But the organizers and authorities came prepared for these weather conditions.
The Philadelphia Fire Department was particularly on it in this regard and had open-air showers on the field while also bringing the fire hoses to spray over the crowd through the day. This helped keep the crowd cool through all day and part of the night.
