The list goes on with more and more stars from Coronation Street. Let’s take a look at another prominent actress who did justice to Mavis Wilton’s character in the soap. Thelma Barlow had already begun her acting career a dozen years before winning the Mavis Wilton’s role on Coronation Street in 1971.

After 1200+ episodes, Barlow bid farewell to the show but continued her acting career, securing other noteworthy acting credits such as Dolly Bellfield in Dinnerladies, and most recently, Mrs. Oscar Garmunder in Florence Foster Jenkins. We no longer get to see Barlow on the screens as often, and it makes sense as she is 91 years old.
