Barbara Knox | Known For: Coronation Street, On Air For 60 Years

Barbara Knox is an English actress who is very well-known as Rita Tanner with her long-running portrayal in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She first came to the set as Rita in December 1964. In 1972, she returned to the show as a full-time cast member.

The 87-year-old was successful as Rita, which anyone can get as she continues with the role after a whopping 49 years. It was hands down one of the most popular and beloved characters in British soap opera history. After the departure of her co-star Eileen Derbyshire, Knox became the show’s second-longest cast member.
