The Abandoned Splendor
Located in the Southern Caucasus, the mysterious Republic of Abkhazia is a disputed territory with a tumultuous and rich past. While some consider it an autonomous state, others view it as a part of Georgia. Its history is marked by strife, including a conflict with Georgia that lasted from 1994 to 2003.
The aftermath of the battle has left indelible scars, and many structures, such as Gali College, have been abandoned. However, amid decay, nature has reclaimed the land, creating a surreal image of vines and greenery taking over. It’s a cinematic sight where beauty and abandonment merge in an eerie embrace.
