Operation Breeze

China’s efforts in fighting illegal wildlife trafficking also involve a two-month crackdown called Operation Breeze. This saw authorities monitor all aspects of animal hunters and sellers’ movements, including the trade of wildlife at international borders. The Internet and various mobile platforms were also monitored.

According to the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), the said platforms have become a hidden channel for crime. Hopefully, these efforts would be enough to keep species like the Asiatic black bear safe from further endangerment due to poaching and the prevalence of bile farms.
