Janet Suzman – Age 84
Janet Suzman took a different path than her politically involved mother, Helen Suzman, in South Africa. Janet dabbled in the theater industry and performed with the world-famous Royal Shakespeare Company. She parlayed her budding fame from the theater into a fruitful acting career in the movies.
Her film critically acclaimed film debut was in the 1971 Oscar-nominated movie ”Nicholas and Alexandra.” She also starred in the film “A Dry White Season” as a tribute to her aunt, in which she dealt with apartheid with honesty and empathy. Still active in the industry, in 2020, she delivered another unforgettable appearance in an episode of “The Crown” TV series.
