Prunella Scales – Age 89
Prunella Scales has been starring in comedic roles since she kicked off her career in 1952. This has led to some decent roles for her, although the most prominent of them is Sybil Fawlty in “Fawlty Towers.” She was also recognized on stage and was nominated for a BAFTA for playing Queen Elizabeth II in “A Question of Attribution.”
Before “Fawlty Towers,” she got a break in the ’60s sitcom “Marriage Lines” oppositeĀ Richard Briers. She also paid her dues in radio serials such as After Henry, Smelling of Roses, and Ladies of Letters for BBC Radio 4. In 2019 she presented an episode of “Great Canal Journeys.”
