Twiggy – Age 72

According to her friends, Dame Lesley Lawson got her nickname thanks to her tiny frame-thin body. She was initially called Twig until her manager, hairdresser, and then-boyfriend changed it to the more playful Twiggy. That’s just in case you’re wondering how one acquires a name like that.

While it could be seen as condescending, the name did make her popular in the modeling industry. She dominated that playing field with her big doe eyes and androgynous features. She also went into acting, winning two Golden Globes for her role in 1971’s “The Boy Friend.” She appeared in the 2021 documentary “Alan Titchmarsh: Spring Into Summer.”
