Taye Diggs, the actor, made his breakthrough in a 2005 musical drama film called “Rent”. It portrays six characters and their struggles to pay, as you may have guessed from the title, their rent. It is set under the shadow of New York’s AIDS crisis from 1989 to 1990.

For Diggs, this was his breakout role, and he continues to reference “Rent” as the gift that keeps giving. It was where he met his ex-wife, with whom he had a child, and, from there, professional doors opened too. It paved the way for his success and his wealth of around $14 million. In 2021, he appeared in the TV series, “Let’s Make a Deal.”
