Ami Ciccone Apr 26, 2022

If you’ve been around long enough, then you’ve surely enjoyed heaps of movies, TV shows, and songs from the Golden Age of Hollywood up to the ’70s and ’80s. Do you ever wonder what happened to the actors who gave life to your favorite characters and singers who performed the now-nostalgic songs? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place.

We have curated a list of 50 stars who are still alive and kicking, and most of them have passed their 70-year milestone. Nonetheless, you’d be surprised to learn who among them are still active in their careers and how much they have got going on in their lives!

Mitzi Gaynor – 1931

Known for films like There’s No Business Like Show Business, The Birds and the Bees, and South Pacific, Mitzi Gaynor made a career out of being an actress, singer, and dancer. Her talents and competitiveness earned her a seven-year contract with Twentieth Century-Fox at only 17 years old.

Through the years, Gaynor worked with The Beatles, performed at award ceremonies, and even served as a columnist for The Hollywood Reporter. According to IMDb, after decades of inactivity in the film industry, the 89-year-old is currently working on a Bob Mackie documentary.

Dolly Parton – 1946

One iconic name in the field of music, Dolly Parton is among the most influential singers in the ’60s through the ’80s. Her debut album “Hello, I’m Dolly” quickly brought her to mainstream charts. Among her over 3,000 songs, the most successful ones are “I Will Always Love You” and “Coat of Many Colors.”

Apart from singing, she is also remembered for acting in multiple film roles, including “9 to 5” and “The Best Little Wh*rehouse in Texas,” which landed her a Golden Globe nomination. Though she gained years, her talent still shines as she released her 48th studio album, “Run, Rose, Run,” in March 2022.

Tina Turner — Born 1939

As Gladys Knight is the “Empress of Soul” in the industry’s eyes, Tina Turner is billed as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” She is 81 years old and much less active in her career, but she’s sold over 100 million records in her prime, placing her among the highest-selling artists of all time.

Turner had her first taste of fame when she started performing with her then-husband, Ike Turner. The 81-year-old’s success in the music career has allowed her to live life like a queen. Her most recent release was a remix of What’s Love Got to Do with It with Kygo.
