Cristina Saralegui – 1948
Cristina Saralegui is a Cuban-born American TV personality and actress. Her family has a long and profitable history in the book industry. Fidel Castro’s revolution shattered her family’s fortunes when she was 12 years old, and they fled Cuba and relocated to Key Biscayne in Florida.
However, despite her family’s initial reluctance, she enrolled at the University of Miami and pursued media and artistic writing since being a high schooler. In her senior year, she left school without completing her studies. Nonetheless, she maintained her internship at Vanidades, a Spanish-language women’s magazine that had been controlled by her family before she left.
