Thelma Barlow – 1929
The younger generation may be unfamiliar with Thelma Barlow, but believe it or not, she used to be one of the most celebrated actresses during Hollywood’s Golden Age of cinema. Her breakthrough role as Mavis Riley in the iconic British soap opera Coronation Street opened a lot of doors, and the actress went on to star in several other shows, including Dinnerladies.
Her last known project was a minor film role in 2016, but she’s taken a backseat in acting since then. Now in her nineties, Barlow prefers to keep a low profile and enjoy her twilight years with her loved ones.
