Tony Bennett — 1926
Anthony Dominick Benedetto came to be known as Tony Bennett after his songs started becoming hits. He entered the music scene in the late ’40s after serving his country through the US Army. When his 1951 song “Because of You” caught widespread attention, he’d never have imagined the various opportunities that would open up.
Bennett suffered from drug addiction and even had a near-fatal overdose in 1979. However, he turned his life around and managed to bank 57 studio albums (the latest being Love Is Here to Stay in 2018) and over 81 singles under his name. Today, Bennett is 94 years old and is yet to retire.
