Karen Grassle – 1942
A theater-trained actress, Karen Grassle, left the stage for the small screen when she won the role of matriarch Caroline Ingalls in the hit ’70s TV drama “Little House On The Prairie.” However, she ultimately returned to her first love and moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to work with Actor’s Theatre.
Grassle, who is also known for her role in the Western “Wyatt Earp,” has since returned to California, where she lives a quiet life. It seems like she also spent a lot of her time reminiscing about the past as she published her memoir “Bright Lights, Prairie Dust” in 2021.
