If you’ve been around long enough, then you’ve surely enjoyed heaps of movies, TV shows, and songs from the Golden Age of Hollywood up to the ’70s and ’80s. Do you ever wonder what happened to the actors who gave life to your favorite characters and singers who performed the now-nostalgic songs? If the answer is yes, then you’re in the right place.
We have curated a list of 50 stars who are still alive and kicking, and most of them have passed their 70-year milestone. Nonetheless, you’d be surprised to learn who among them are still active in their careers and how much they have got going on in their lives!
Eric Clapton – 1945
Eric Clapton, the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is a British musician known for his exceptional guitar skills. He made a name for himself as a solo artist, releasing songs like Wonderful Tonight singer, and as part of The Yardbirds and Cream bands.
Clapton is 75 years old now, with a career spanning almost six decades. However, he is still active as a musician, having released his latest studio album Happy Xmas in 2018. It may be time for Clapton to retire, though, after revealing that he has a hearing disorder during a BBC interview in the same year.
Johnny Briggs- 1935
The handsome English actor Johnny, born John Ernest Briggs, was followed by fans for almost seven decades before his retirement in 2012. He spent three of those decades acting on the British soap opera Coronation Street; talk about prolific! Besides this long-running show, Briggs was also known for Thick as Thieves and Crossroads; this talented gent was all over.
Today Johnny divides his time between North Somerset, England, and Florida- obviously because the guy is an enthusiastic golfer. Apart from keeping him in good shape, the outdoor hobby probably keeps him entertained as well.
Max Baer Jr. – 1937
If you have watched The Beverly Hillbillies, Max Baer Jr.’s face is one that you cannot forget. He was only in his twenties when he first came on the show, and it’s pretty hard to believe that it’s been so long because he’s 82 now. But following Donna Douglas’s passing in 2015, Baer Jr. is the only remaining main cast member alive.
Even though he has barely been on the screens since Murder, She Wrote in 1991, Baer Jr. did make a comeback in 2020, appearing as himself on Jay Sebring…. Cutting to the Truth. He has also been keen on the gambling industry for years.
