Jerry Orbach – 69 (1935 – 2004)
There are the last of Hollywood’s Golden Age of Cinema, and there are those from Broadway musicals, with Jerry Orbach as one of its real leading men. Even though the versatile actor had a successful career in the theater, he became more famous after switching to film and television full-time.
The Tony-awardee became a familiar face on TV when he starred as NYPD homicide detective Lennie Briscoe in Law & Order. He played the character for a record-breaking eleven and a half seasons! Orbach passed away after battling prostate cancer for more than a decade.
