Orlando Bloom – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The fantasy epic Lord of the Rings not only revived the genre, but it made Hollywood legends out of many of its cast members, including everyone’s favorite bow-slinging elf, Legolas, brought to life with perfection by a shy young Orlando Bloom. So when the time came to shoot The Hobbit films, nearly two decades had passed since Bloom’s LOTR appearance.

Since The Hobbit takes place farther back in time, production used CGI to knock a few years off of Orlando, who was in his 40’s by then. The final result may have some audiences on the fence, but The Hobbit movies were a box-office success.
