Rising to stardom in the 1990s, Rodney Hylton Smith, commonly known as Roots Manuva, is one of the most popular hip-hop artists in the United Kingdom. His influence has become so massive that notable names and bands like Arctic Monkeys and Dizzee Rascal look up to him.

Roots was a child when he discovered he had a penchant for music. He entered the scene in 1994 and would soon release his own single. His simple and modest upbringing was reflected on his album “Brand New Second Hand.” In September 2021, the rapper was said to be working on new tracks.
