Unfortunately, their marriage did not last and in 2020, they released a joint statement announcing their split just two months after announcing their marriage.

They dated for three years and got engaged in Tokyo in 2017. Waithe announced their secret marriage on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and revealed that Mayo had never dated a woman before her.
