The Canadian music diva Celine Dion has the voice of an angel and the braveness of a red carpet warrior. In 1999, she attended the Oscars in an all-white suit and made it to some worst-dressed lists. She spoke about her controversial outfit without regret, simply mentioning it was “avant-garde at the time.”

What the press interpreted as a fashion fiasco turned out to be a red carpet statement, as Dion dared to wear pants and a back-to-front-appearing jacket to an event where all the girls showed up in a dress. Looking back, we think Dion looks good, but we can understand why her attire was so criticized.
