This Famous Disney Character Was Modeled After Tom Cruise’s Face

Many people have speculated that Tom was the direct inspiration for the titular character of Aladdin in the Disney film. The connection was never officially confirmed. However, the physical appearance and charm of the animated character do bear a resemblance to his appealing on-screen personality.

The original idea was to have Aladdin be small and “cartoonish,” but when animators saw Tom’s breakout performance in “Top Gun,” they decided to make him more like the actor. Interestingly enough, Michael J. Fox (who dated Katie Holmes after she and Tom split) was originally going to be the inspiration for Aladdin’s appearance, but they eventually went with the ”Mission Impossible” star instead.
