Max Yasgur Made It Happen!
Fun fact, did you know that Woodstock isn’t a place? The festival didn’t happen at a place called Woodstock; instead, it was named after the company that sponsored it, Woodstock Ventures which is still in operation to date.
So the concert would not have been possible if it was not for Max Yasgur, a Bethel farmer, who agreed to host the event at his dairy farm. His collaboration brought about a lot of criticism from his neighbors, who almost sued him! Sadly, Max passed on in 1973, but he shall never be forgotten for making the festival a success.
